Getting Started

Q: How does the training process work?
A: We follow a simple, effective five-step process to get you started:
-
Request & Review: Start by filling out our online request form with details about your dog and your training goals.
-
Consultation: We’ll schedule a detailed consultation to discuss behaviors, set clear goals, and determine the right service package for you.
-
Recommendation: Based on the consult, you’ll receive a recommendation for the number of sessions and a customized training plan.
-
Booking: Once you select a package, we'll schedule your sessions at our facility or in public/at your home.
-
Product Pack: At the first session, you will receive our essential Product Pack. This includes the specific, high-quality training supplies that we use during every session and that you will use to practice at home—no fluff, just the tools needed for success.

Q: Where does training take place?
A: We offer flexible training locations to best suit your dog's needs and your goals:

-
Dedicated Training Facility (Fernley, NV): Our new, climate-controlled indoor space is perfect for focused sessions, proofing, and initial behavior work without distractions.
-
Public Locations: We utilize local parks and pet-friendly public spaces to practice real-world obedience and manners.
-
In-Home Sessions: We travel to you for behavior issues that are specific to your home environment.

Q: What areas do you service?
A: We proudly serve Fernley, Fallon, Silver Springs, and the greater Lyon County area. Travel arrangements and fees will be discussed during your consultation.

Q: What should I expect from the training sessions?
A: You can expect engaging, interactive sessions tailored to your dog's specific needs. You'll receive hands-on guidance from a certified specialist, learning techniques and exercises directly alongside your dog. Our goal is to ensure you fully understand how to communicate with your dog and maintain progress long after the session ends.

Logistics and Support
Q: How long does the training program typically last?
A: The total duration varies based on your dog's individual needs and goals. Individual sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes to one hour, with the session length heavily factored by your dog's current threshold and ability to focus.

Q: Is there work to be done at home?
A: Yes, at-home practice is essential. Consistent dedication and practice are the largest drivers of success. Your trainer provides clear instructions and take-home resources to ensure you can reinforce the techniques learned during our sessions.

Q: Will I have support outside of the training sessions?
A: Absolutely! We are committed to your success. You can reach out with questions, concerns, or updates regarding your dog’s progress in between sessions.

Q: What if I need to reschedule a training session?
A: We understand life happens. We kindly request that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule to allow us to adjust our schedule accordingly.

Policies & Credentials
Q: Do you work with dogs that have aggression issues?
A: Yes, we do. We have specialized training and experience in behavior modification, including aggression. There is an additional surcharge for this specialized service, which will be discussed fully during your consultation.

Q: Is there an age requirement for dogs to participate?
A: We welcome dogs of all ages. Puppies can start in-home training once they've had their first set of vaccinations. For training in public areas or dog-to-dog socialization, they must be fully vaccinated and cleared by a veterinarian.

Q: What training methods do you use?
A: We are a LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) certified organization. As balanced trainers, we emphasize the use of positive reinforcement strategies while utilizing mild corrections to clearly guide behavior when necessary, ensuring the most effective and ethical training.

Q: What professional affiliations and certifications do you have?
A: Our team proudly holds the following credentials:
-
LIMA Certified Trainers (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive)
-

-
Lead Trainer Adrian Rhines is a graduate of the Starmark Academy for Professional Dog Trainers.

Q: Are you Licensed and Insured?
A: Yes, we are both fully Licensed and Insured. Lead Trainer Adrian Rhines is a Licensed Canine Training and Behavior Specialist, and we maintain an insurance policy to cover our operations, ensuring we meet the highest industry standards.

Q: What guarantees success in the training program?
A: While specific results cannot be guaranteed (as every dog and owner relationship is unique), our program is designed to set you up for maximum success. This is achieved through three key factors: Owner Consistency, Clear Communication, and the use of Balanced Reinforcement as outlined in your custom plan.
